Wollongong-born Tamara is a proud Worimi and Gumbaynggirr woman with over 25 years’ experience across the public, private and community sectors. She is deeply passionate about working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities across Australia to strengthen wellbeing and reduce the harms caused by alcohol and other drugs.
Tamara has extensive experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health promotion, mental health, and social and emotional wellbeing, contributing to statewide cultural practice frameworks, suicide-prevention policies and clinical guidelines. With a strong background in media, communications and broadcasting, she has led teams delivering local, state and national messaging through the National Indigenous Radio Service.
A trusted cultural advisor and advocate, Tamara is known for empowering communities and organisations through culturally grounded collaboration. She has worked with the Alcohol and Drug Foundation for more than five years as National RAP Manager, strengthening reconciliation and culturally safe, community-led harm-reduction initiatives.
